Hi! I'm Brenda Zechmeister, owner and co-host of the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast. I bought this house in 1996 as just a shell and spent the next year and a half overseeing the restoration and transformation into the place I call home. My previous work experience includes over 15 years in arts administration, so it only seemed natural to get involved in the local arts community here with the 1st Friday Gallery Hop. My hobbies include biking, hiking, yoga, and traveling.
It has been a dream of mine for some time now to open a bed & breakfast in my home. Over the past decade, I have offered hospitality to artists, writers and musicians needing temporary housing. Those experiences led me to take a step further and extend my hospitality as an innkeeper.
My fiancé, and your co-host is Jimmy Heath. Jimmy is a well-known photographer/photo-journalist in the Cincinnati area, and his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. He is currently director of the Center for Community Photography at Peaslee Neighborhood Center in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, where he runs the Literacy Through Photography program for neighborhood children. Jimmy is also editor of Streetvibes newspaper, a forum for homeless, civil rights and human rights issues, read by over 15,000 people in Cincinnati and beyond. His interests include photography, painting, reading, writing and traveling. Visit www.JimmyHeath.org to read more about Jimmy's work.
Elliot, pictured here, is a large, long-haired white cat. He stays with us on the third floor and does not enter the guest areas. He would love to meet you, though, if you'd like as he just adores affection. |
